Trent was co-counsel for an employee of EDMC – which owned the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. A whistleblower law encourages employees to notify the federal government when an employer defrauds the government. In this case, the employee alleged that EDMC was illegally paying its college recruiters based on the number of students they enrolled. The case, along with 3 related cases, settled for $95.5 Million.
